Social Media talk with Peter Svarre Sept. 2012
In an exclusive event for Columbia University Alumni in Denmark and employees of Saxo Bank only, Social media expert Peter Svarre on Sept. 20, 2012 talked about "The Perfect Storm" - his first book on digital communications and social media strategies.
Written for companies and organizations, the book also offers useful tips for individuals and smaller companies.
Peter Svarre’s approach to digital projects is from the business objective and the users who will be interacting with the digital interface. Even though he has a deep understanding of available technologies, his approach is from a non-technical perspective.

Peter Svarre graduated from SIPA (School of International and Public Affairs) at Columbia University in 1998, and has since worked with social media for companies such as Hello Group, Novo Nordisk, Kræftens Bekæmpelse, and Saxo Bank in Copenhagen.
Thanks to Saxo Bank for being the host of this event.
Peter used social media such as Facebook while working on the book to engage readers and interact with his audience.
Nike+iPod use social media to connect runners all over the world.
Two Saxo Bank employees working with social media enjoyed Peter's talk.
As did the attending Columbia alumni.
No wonder, as Peter was not only insightful, but also gave an interesting, entertaining and funny talk. Here he's dissecting how Old Spice used Twitter in its marketing.
The event was also an opportunity to celebrate Columbia Alumni Association’s Worldwide Networking Event! The event is always a great opportunity for all alumni to recognize and celebrate the Columbia University global community. The 2011 worldwide networking event included nearly 70 events attended by over 2,900 people. To commemorate the day, we all gathered for a couple of group photos.
